David A. Smith
David A. Smith is the President of Conference Center Group, and a principal in Conference Center Consulting Group and Conference Center Management Group, both headquartered in Wallingford, Connecticut.
Mr. Smith began his conference center career with Harrison Conference Centers as a Regional Manager from 1976 to 1980. In 1989, Mr. Smith founded Conference Center Consulting Group, which specializes in providing operation analyses, revenue generating strategies, and training services to the conference center industry. In 1998, Conference Center Management Group was formed and presently operates Aberdeen Woods Conference Center in Peachtree City, Georgia.
In addition to taking part in speaking engagements all over the world, Mr. Smith is a regular presenter at the Cornell University International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) professional development course and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Conference Centers.
Jane G. Smith
Jane G. Smith is the Vice President of Conference Center Consulting Group and Conference Center Management Group. Mrs. Smith began her career in the hospitality industry in 1978 as a meeting planner for an independent meeting planning company in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1980, Mrs. Smith founded Corporate Meetings, Inc., an events management firm and, for several years, planned events for such diverse companies as Johnson & Johnson, GTE, and Coca-Cola. In 1989, Mrs. Smith co-founded Conference Center Consulting Group with Mr. Smith.
Mrs. Smith is a former member of Meeting Planners International and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Colby College of Waterville, Maine.
Paula L. Bergquist
Paula Bergquist is the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Conference Center Group. Ms. Bergquist has been employed by Conference Center Group since 1995 and is responsible for the sales and marketing operation of all current and potential projects in the Boston area.
Ms. Bergquist began her hospitality career in 1975 as an Account Executive with Ramada Inns. In 1979, Ms. Bergquist joined Harrison Conference Centers as a Regional Account Executive. In 1984, Ms. Bergquist assumed the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for the Mt. Washington Hotel.
In 1986, Ms. Bergquist accepted the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for Ocean Edge Conference Center. Ms. Bergquist was employed with Ocean Edge until 1995 when she accepted a position with Conference Center Group. Ms. Bergquist is a member of International Association of Conference Centers, the Boston Hotel Sales and Marketing Association, as well as Meeting Planners International. Ms. Bergquist is a graduate of Baypath College.
Janet V. Stein
In 2000, Ms. Stein joined Conference Center Group. Ms. Stein's hospitality career began in 1977 with the Dunvey Hotels where she served as Front Office Manager, Front Desk Manager, and Rooms Division Manager for the Parker House Hotel in Boston. In 1984, Ms. Stein joined the Sheraton's Flatley Hotel Company.
In 1988, Ms. Stein joined Harrison Conference Centers. As Director of Operations for the Executive Center at Babson College, Ms. Stein was responsible for the entire operation of this 150-room conference center. She also served as General Manager of Bank Boston's Conference and Training Center with branches located in Waltham, MA and Providence, RI.
In 2000, Ms. Stein joined Conference Center Group. Ms. Stein graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics.
